Glencoe and Glenfinnan

Glencoe and Glenfinnan are two of Scotland’s most breathtaking and historically significant landscapes, each offering stunning scenery and deep connections to Scottish heritage.

Glencoe, often called Scotland’s most beautiful glen, is a dramatic valley shaped by ancient volcanic activity and glaciers. Towering peaks, rugged ridges, and cascading waterfalls make it a paradise for hikers and photographers. It is also steeped in history, most notably as the site of the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe, where members of the MacDonald clan were betrayed and slain.

Not far away, Glenfinnan is famous for its stunning viaduct, which curves gracefully over the valley and is best known for its role in the Harry Potter films. It is also a site of historical significance, as the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745, marking the beginning of the Jacobite uprising.
